S.Sivaparath son of Sivakumar and Sivaranjani, is a daily wage earner and lives in a thatched
house in Parathur Savadi in Chidambaram Block in Cuddalore District in Tamil Nadu. He
studies in 9th standard in Thiruvallur Government Higher Secondary School in
Orathur village which is far away from his home town.
He is an artist and particularly shows interest to learn about the social issues. Based on his
interest, he got a certificate on the water day programme conducted by L&T construction.
He was identified by DHRDs and was invited to attend the state level capacity building for
children on monitoring child rights violations cases.
He was capacitated by SASY on child rights and complaint mechanisms to the concerned
district education authorities. Now he shares with his peer groups on what he had learnt
regarding child rights and complaint mechanisms, he has been capacitated to meet
the stakeholders who are responsible for child rights in the district.
