Maya works as State Coordinator in Madhya Pradesh . Her father  passed  away  when she  was very young and she was married off. She faced abuse from her ex husband’s family because of being unable to satisfy their demands for dowry.

Subsequently, she got a divorce while she was still pregnant. she continued my education and made a living by working in a tailoring shop and at companies like Bajaj Alliance, Max New York Life, PRATHAM institutions and also worked with organisations like NACDOR, K.S.S. etc. She experienced first hand, the discrimination that divorced dalit women face.

After this realisation and some bitter experiences, She decided to work for her community and worked on access to education, health, fundamental rights and a good quality of living in rural areas. She is committed to making a socially democratic society and aspire to continue my work with AIDMAM along these lines.
