Leaving Vulnerable behind “State Level Needs Assessment and Monitoring Responses towards Affected Dalit Communities in Tamil Nadu Floods 2015”

​In continuation to our initial assessment in Cuddalore this second round of assessment covering 69000 families of 122 villages of Six flood affected districts ( Villupuran , Thruvallur , Kancheepuram , Cuddalore , Nagaipattinam ,Chennai ) have shown the same traits of neglect towards communities of Dalits. The process has shown that the communities of Dalits have been neglected right from the phase of getting the early warning up to getting urgent relief and early recovery facilities. In the assessment, Dalits shared their experiences of negligence and discrimination by rescue teams, mobilized by the Government, in detail with team members.
