Concerns and Issues of Marginalized Communities were raised in Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction held on 3 to 5 November 2016, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

In follow up of the intervention In 2014 AMCDRR in Bangkok, National Dalit watch – NCDHR team along with ADRF and other associated networks have participated in the various thematic sessions of the AMCDRR Conference and raised the issue of Inclusion of various marginalized sections in the Sendai Framework of Action.

The Highlights of Interventions for Inclusion 

-Sharing of materials on Inclusion of Dalits and Marginalized sections in Market place provided in AMCDRR conference venue.

-Shared demand paper on Leave No One behind: Inclusion of Dalits and Marginalized sections in Post Sendai DRR framework in all the thematic meetings attended i.e Gender, Community Resilience, Community Managed DRR, Disaster Financing etc, Understanding Risk, Unpacking Risk Assessment, Building Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.

-Demanded inclusion of Caste as an Indicator Vulnerability in DRR actions in concluding plenary session. 

-Successful submission of Demands on Leave No One behind: Inclusion of Dalits and Marginalized sections in Post Sendai DRR framework to Key panel members of  AMCDRR.
