Hon. P Chidambaram Assured in the Rajya Sbaha on 31st Aug 2010.

Greetings from DAAA-NCDHR and HLRN
Hon. Minister for Home Affairs has accepted that Delhi Govt. has done wrong with the Special Component Plan. It is well known through media that Delhi Govt. has diverted SCP fund for the Commonwealth Games. The latest calculation of diverted amount is Rs. 678.91 Cr, as per the facts submitted in the Rajya Sabha. This amount has to be brought back under SCP by the Delhi Government. To bring back remaining Rs. 7062.76, which was diverted in the projects other than Commonwealth projects, will be brought back at the behest of Dr. Narendra Jadav, Member Planning Commission who is heading a task force to examine operational difficulties in SCP/TSP.
The Honourable Minister pointed out further that, it is not only the Delhi Government but all States are diverting in the same manner. However, it is Dr. Narender Jadav who has to decide that how the State Governments and central ministries have to implement SCP and TSP.
Friends it is efforts of all Civil Society Organizations, Activists and Governments that made it possible. Research and advocacy was conducted by DAAA-NCDHR and Housing & Land Rights Network (HLRN).
