Ranike appreciates work done by Self Reliance Welfare Society

Ludhiana , November 18 Minister Gulzar Singh today appreciated the work done by Self Reliance Welfare Society for SCs and STs. The function was dedicated to the society's founder, late Anokh Singh, retired IAS officer.
The minister informed that the state government has also waved off pending loans of Rs 14 crore against 26,000 Dalits and economically weak families. The government would also bear half the fee of Scheduled Caste students of Nursing in the state. Ranike said that the government has established a dedicated social security fund of Rs 482.46 crore to release regular pensions under the Social Security department.
The minister said Anokh Singh had been fully committed for the education of the scheduled castes, so that they can be given representation in the government services. The minister also appreciated the efforts of his son RPS Pawar, chairman of the society, for his services to the scheduled castes. Ranike announced a grant of Rs 2.50 lakh for the coaching centre of the society.
MP Sharanjit Singh Dhillon also appreciated Anokh Singh's welfare measures. Principal Secretary Punjab RPS Pawar said the society would continue to provide training and coaching to brilliant SC students, so that they can capture the top-ranking jobs in government as well as private sector.
